I would do the exact opposite in pretty much every way. If they still were traumatized, then I would seek help. They see worse on tv.

The STUDENTS weren’t offered grief counseling. The PARENTS were told of an incident that MAY affect their children and that counseling was available if needed, although 99.99999999% of the letter was about how parents could deal with any issues themselves.

I have no problem with any of this. And do think it is highly contrasting to the previous post. The vast majority of kids will drive by this scene and not have any reaction; a small handful will have some reaction. They are apparently snowflakes who were poorly raised by helicopter parents according to this blog. On the other hand, the vast majority of kids who are interrogated by the police are just fine; one, who may not even have been interrogated for all we really know, killed himself and it is the police officer’s fault because nobody could withstand that. Which is it folks? Apparently just whatever fits the agenda.

My kid, who has never been helicoptered or babied, would be affected by seeing a dead body. She hates seeing dead animals on the road. It is just who she is. Do I think she would need grief counseling? No. Would I be happy for a heads up? Absolutely.
