You have to know Selingsgrove, PA – it’s a very provincial, backwater town with a lot of poorly educated blue collar workers. Not the brightest bunch. Hilde is probably well up the curve from most.
I wonder if the guy who emailed her the F-bomb has committed a punishable crime – corrupting the youth or something. Wouldn’t that be funny if he got his butt prosecuted?! Maybe just publishing his name would be sufficient.
More on topic, though, doesn’t our society constantly tell young kids they should be afraid of being kidnapped, raped, and murdered by bad guys? Don’t we make them practice lockdowns in school so they will know how to hide from the machine guns that will be pointed at their heads? Why is it OK to scare kids about what “might” happen but it’s not OK for them to talk about what “did” happen? We are sick.
