Lady Handing Out Letters to “Obese” Trick or Treaters Could be a Hoax

Hi Readers! The same gal who alerted me to the story of nefhfkikiz
the lady giving out letters, not candy, to “moderately obese” trick or treaters
has just sent me this story saying the woman might not actually exist. I hope she doesn’t! But I’m also sorry for posting about it here. I guess I got a trick not a treat, that time.

To deal with my shame, I will now go eat a mini Milky Way. Or three. – L

This beats a letter!

This still beats a letter!

Yes, that kind of “treat” would be an invitation to tricks.

Sham or not, it is “inspiring” real people to do this. A woman where I live is printing up a bunch of these letters and is going to hand them out. Ridiculous.

She’s real…she was on the radio spreading her “message”. http://thethirtiesgrind.com/2013/10/31/meet-halloween-grinch/

I think the call is fake because morning radio zoo type talk shows wouldn’t give this lady the amount of air time she got and they wouldn’t just sit there and give her free reigns to talk. The call is to structured without the interaction normally associated with this kind of morning radio. And who breaks news like this on a morning zoo show? This would have been online 1st. The radio show has to program a 5 min call into the show they couldn’t just do this on the fly without forewarning. I’m saying fake so fake.

Hoax or running scared. Calling something a hoax is a standard retreat when they know the masses are against/after them.

Ok, gotta share another local “story” from my neck of the woods. Do you ever get the feeling that news people sometimes randomly pull two current events out of a hat and mash up a make believe danger scares? Here’s one for ya…

    http://www.9news.com/news/article/362535/339/Warning-about-marijuana-candy-this-Halloween

Naturally, here in Colorado, the two events are “Legalized Marijuana,” + “Upcoming Halloween” = “one type of candy that parents need to be on the lookout for: marijuana-laced candy” that “someone may try to pass off as normal.”

Of course, they don’t say if this has every actually happened before, and they do point out that it is highly unlikely that you could reach toxic levels in children, but “They can get high anxiety […] and that’s very concerning.” For goodness sake, WATCH OUT, PARENTS!!!

The source is a radio talk show call? Yeah, entire thing is fake.

I saw it on the mainstream media though. But I did think the hag probably would not really go through with it, especially after all the uproar. Here’s hoping kids fat and skinny are happy tonight.

(Anyone remember the Armour hotdog jingle?)

Letters? You mean like a scarlet F?

Marijuana’s not cheap. Why would anyone hand out spiked candy/baked goods? Moral panics seem never to go out of style.

Don’t feel bad — a lot of professional news outlets reported this story. And, real or fake, I thought it was hilarious. I told everyone that if my kid ever got a letter like this while trick-or-treating, I’d return to that woman’s house with my child and a dozen eggs and teach her the true meaning of Halloween. 🙂

“To deal with my shame, I will now go eat a mini Milky Way. Or three. – L”

I don’t think this whole ‘choosing your own punishment’ thing is working very well.
