Readers — Many of us have been on this wild journey together for a long time — a decade. It certainly wasn’t for naught! Read that first column and catch up on the latest about the Free-Range Kids movement over at Let Grow, where I’m blogging now. Same goal, same me — but now with a board and a budget!
Good Morning America is clearly conflicted about giving viewers the crazy idea that kids are competent and crime is down. Join me over at Let Grow to look at the video and think about what they ultimately recommended.
Forget the fact that the ‘expert’ Good Morning America interviewed said — on national TV! — that “some” 12-year-olds can handle a 4-block walk home from school, but for others that’s a bit young. My heart was expanding as I watched this ad…until the end of course. Watch it and join the conversation over at my new non-profit, Let Grow:
Friends, it has happened. We have changed the course of parenting — and law. Loving moms and dads in Utah do not have to worry that they will be arrested or investigated simply for trusting their kids to walk to school, play outside, go to the park. Only 49 states to go! I am blogging at Let Grow, as I now am head of a non-profit (rather than me just writing in my living room). Please join the conversation — and movement — there!
The bill would fine the parents of “bullies” $750 and require them to take parenting classes arranged by the school. Why this is a bad idea — join the conversation at Let Grow! .
Certain kiddie smartphone/watches allow the parent to flip a switch and hear what’s going on without the child knowing. What does it mean to grow up — or parent — this way? Join the conversation at Let Grow!
Better ate than never — British playgrounds are bringing risky back. (But the bureaucrats still have their say.) Join the chat at Let Grow! .
This is the story folks are talking about today — of course it’s a parenting decision. Was dad wrong to make his son run to school after he got kicked off the bus for bullying? Join the conversation at Let Grow!
