A while back a got into conversation with a homeless guy at the park, and he ended up offering me some of a chicken he’d found in the dumpster behind King Soopers. I thought it was quite charming that someone who had nothing still wanted to make the gracious gesture of offering to share what he had. Might this cake offerer have been in a similar position?

For the love of God, let them eat cake!

My god. Why do no strangers ever offer me cake? 🙁
