Alas, we don’t get that channel here.

So for us, there’s still nothing good on television.

This show used to be on in Canada, as “Bubble Wrap Kids.” Why isn’t it on anymore?

I am watching the show, laughing and crying. It’s hilarious how hostile some of the Moms are toward Lenore’s presence. The juice box for the kid on his way to register for college will make me look at juice boxes with a whole new prejudice . Somehow I always end up in tears. I would like to tell the parents that yes, it’s true the kids need you less for physical support and they are not your baby anymore, but they still need you as a guide and mentor. That is your new role, within reason.

Any chance of getting this on Hulu or Netflix or somehow online? For those of us who’ve decided to go without cable TV?

Over here TLC is rerunning them too 🙂

@SanityAnyone?: I never understood Lenore’s problem with the juice boxes!
Full disclosure: I *always* took juice boxes with me to the university, simply because 1) it’s nice to have something else to drink than just water (the tapwater here tastes excellent, but still), and 2) six juice boxes in the supermarket are always going to be cheaper to buy than six separate portions in the canteen…

    Pap,
The whole juicebox thing is about perception. Juiceboxes originally were for small children, sort of a disposable sippy cup. A lot of teens don’t want to be associated with a child product. The whole thing is the older a kid is, the older they want to appear.

    Lenore,
Still waiting for the series to come out on blue ray.

I never understood the problem with juice boxes. I used to really enjoy these:

I LOVED watching all 4 episodes of that show yesterday. I found it funny how OVERPROTECTIVE and hostile those moms were. ESPECIALLY Cecilia. SHE WAS CA-RAZY! LOL. None of the other 3 moms SPIED on their kids! I’m very glad my mom isn’t excessively overprotective of me now (i was born with CHARGE Syndrome, so she had reason to somewhat be overprotective when i was younger. LOL). She does overreact sometimes, like when my toenails are slightly blue because i get cold (i’m a cold-natured person, but I HATE being cold!), since I have Raynauds Syndrome (which is reduced blood flow in response to cold temperatures or emotional stress-mine is just in response to the cold weather. LOL).

I don’t catch the channel. I could if I upgraded to a higher package, but I don’t want the higher package – in fact, the vast majority of the little TV I’m interested in watching is on just a few channels out of the moderately large package I already have.

If packages weren’t forced on me and I could just select the individual channels I want, then I might get Discovery Life. On the other hand, I did already see the Canadian version of S1, so I still might not bother getting Discovery Life unless a S2 came to exist.

@Warren: Just heard Lenore say it was an *Elmo* juicebox – that explains a lot about why it is perceived as a little kid’s thing! Over here those boxes look just as neutral as the liter versions (no cartoons etc).
